They called me Mackey
They called me Mackey Mantle – after the great baseball player, Mickey Mantle. When I was in grade school, I could hit the ball further than anyone else on the team (my maiden name was Mack). Whether it’s in business or life, I’m still trying to hit it out of the park. Welcome to my blog! If you’d like some quick and snappy ideas on how to become a better presenter, you’ve come to the right place. It’s my intention to combine how-to information with interesting insights into my world – both professionally and personally. I’ll start with a quick snapshot: I grew up in Lancaster County PA with horses and buggies going past my house daily (no, I am not Amish). I graduated from Penn State and the University of Kansas with a degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology. My training career started when I worked for General Dynamics in San Diego where I headed up the Quality Circles, Team Involvement Program. In 1981 I started my own company, Successworks and since then I have specialized in Presentation Skills Training. My clients include a wide range of businesses and organizations ranging from Fortune 500 companies to medical facilities to universities. I absolutely love working with all levels of speakers and presenters. Through my training, coaching, and careful nudging, I can help the average person double their skills within 2 days! When I am not training, you can find me spending time with my husband, Scott, 2 daughters, and 3 dogs. I might be lost on the tiny roads of Tuscany or out on the golf course with my buddies or flying like the wind in a dog agility competition. I believe every day should be a blast – at work and at play.
